Aruba, Jamaica, oooh I wanna take ya

We recently traveled to Jamaica for Grant Culver (one of the Miller's best family friends--known him since he was a tot in diapers!) and Nicole's (my little sis Tessa's best friend/roommate from college--she's like our 5th sister) wedding. It was so awesome & special since we knew both sides so well--and Max (along with cousin Tucker) was even one of the ring bearers! It was such a blast & a much needed, relaxing vacation! Here's Max in the shuttle bus on the way to the resort--Hey look there's the ocean!!! He was especially excited b/c he got to sit on mom's lap instead of in his carseat. We lugged it all the way from OKC on the airplane & everything--come to find out it did not even come close to fitting on the shuttle bus (the seats were way too close together).
The whole fam in our stylish shades!
Max discovered the sand, the rocks, and the saltwater did not taste so good...

The biggest 9 month old!

This past week I went to the doctor for my 9 month check-up. I am growing & my Mom & Dad are feeding me VERY well! I weigh 23lbs5oz (90th%) and am 30.5 inches (97th%), with an 18.5 inch head! My doctor says I am the size of an average 14 month old! We've been very busy lately--just got back from a trip to Jamaica (we have lots of great pics that I'll post later), and my mom just took a big test (her ER inservice exam) this past week. We also discovered when we got back from our trip that our dryer was broken :-( so we just got a new one. This weekend my mom & dad get to do laundry & put away Christmas decorations while I play! I love being 9 months old!
What mama--no shots at my 9 month check-up?!

Hurray!

Christmas pics

We had a great time celebrating Christmas--first Christmas morning in Edmond, then it was off to Claremore & then Enid. The roads were still pretty bad, but we made it to see both families safe & sound. Santa brought Max lots of great presents and 3 different stockings--he must have been a good boy!

A very white Christmas!

Well Oklahoma is sure gonna have a white Christmas! There is actually a blizzard going on right now and they've declared a "state of emergency" and all the highways are closed. Not sure how Dad is going to get to work tonight...(they never close ERs and we are expected to be there no matter what!). Hopefully they will have the roads cleared by tomorrow am so we can travel to see our families! Max hopes Santa can still make it through the blizzard to Edmond tonight--I bet he can, he's used to this weather at the North Pole! Here's some pics from today & the past couple days. The view from our front door--Jeff has got some major driveway shoveling to do!

C'mon Mom, lets go outside & build snowmen!
It doesn't look that cold!
A snowball! I've never seen one of these before!
Delicious!
Watching my Christmas choo-choo train from Nanabear. It's wheels move, it plays songs, and it blows out smoke!

Jeff, Staci & Max wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas!

HoHoHo! and the missing sock.

We took Max to see Santa last night & he loved it! He tried to pull Santa's beard a little, but other than that he was a perfect angel--no crying! We had a little sock drama when we first got there to stand in line & I realized that Max only had on one of his cute Christmas socks. I didn't know whether to take the other one off & have him barefoot, or have Santa try & cover up his one barefoot. First we sent Dad back to retrace the steps from the car & to look in Max's carseat for the missing sock, but alas that was unsuccessful. When Dad got back, we were still a few deep in line, so I decided to send him into the Baby Gap that was right next to Santa, and luckily he made it back with some cute striped socks just in time!

Merry Christmas to all!!!

I can say Mama! (when I'm in the mood)

So Max has been talking a lot lately, he says "Mama, mama" all the time. Not sure if he realizes who Mama is, but he sure likes to say it. In this 1st video he was talking until we turned the camera on, then he got camera shy (or ornery--one of the two!).

Okay, here's Mama take II...

Getting ready for Christmas

We have been gearing up for Christmas--putting up the Christmas tree & decorations, and shopping for gifts. Jeff opted not to put up any outside lights this year, but I can't really blame him because he did so much work with the move. We plan on going to visit Santa sometime this week. In front of the finished tree

We're lucky he can't crawl yet...or there would be lots of broken decorations!
Lounging by the fireplace
Getting ready to brave the cold & go shop for presents! He has matching mittens that he refuses to let me put on him
